Japanese Student Visitors!

Visiting Japanese Students.JPG

For the 5th year, STAR Prep welcomes Japanese middle and high school students from all parts of Japan to spend a week with us at school. They will spend their mornings at STAR Prep studying English as a Second Language, then spend their afternoons with our students in classes. This year, at the request of our students to spend more time with each other, we plan to join them on their beach trip to Santa Monica on Tuesday afternoon, March 26, to give everyone a chance to collect shells, play volleyball, and hang out at the Pacific Ocean. This will also give our students a chance to complete their 2nd community service with Heal the Bay, collecting trash.

Grammy Museum

On a rainy Tuesday, STAR Prep music students hopped the metro for a visit to the Grammy Museum in DTLA. Along with a few other high schools, the Grammy Museum opened their doors early for us to have a hands-on experience throughout the museum. The special event that day for the pre-Grammy awards week was a panel of music professionals (singers, musicians, music producers) that shared their musical journey to their careers with the students….next Ole, we’ll all remember to bring umbrellas!
